Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves
The Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves are a must-visit destination for families visiting the Gold Coast Hinterland. Located in Mount Tamborine, and very nearby Curtis Falls, these caves offer kids of all ages an unforgettable experience exploring and discovering the unique glow worms that inhabit them. Kids will be mesmerised by the magical sight of thousands of tiny glowing lights twinkling in the darkness and can even join one of the guided tours to learn more about this amazing phenomenon. Located just a short 40km drive from the Gold Coast, just off quiet, winding Lamington National Park Road this alpaca farm offers plenty of activities and experiences that are perfect for kids. Slideways Go Karting Gold Coast is open 6 days a week (closed Mondays) with hours varying depending on the season. Standard hours are Tuesday-Thursday 12pm-8pm, and later on Friday-Sunday, giving racers plenty of time to enjoy the course. During these busier periods the track can get quite crowded, so it’s a good idea to call ahead and book a time slot if you plan on bringing a larger group. You can book online here.
Wyaralong Dam
Wyaralong Dam is a bit further out, around 75 minutes drive from the Gold Coast, but is still a great spot for families to explore.
