Adelaide’s queer arts and culture festival, Feast
Founded in 1997, Feast is Australia’s third largest LGBTIQ+ festival and provides a safe and inclusive platform for the LGBTIQA+ community. With a programme of more than 100 events across the city, Feast is a celebration of the diversity of our community. Its diverse roster of entertainment includes cabaret, music, theatre and films. It also offers free entry to full-time students and seniors with a valid Concession Card.
Feast also hosts a variety of events throughout the year including community forums and seminars. Its programming includes a special LGBTQ Conversations series. This year’s program is fronted by Feast’s official 2023 Ambassadors. These Ambassadors are: Libby O’Donovan, Christian Hull, Dr Gertrude Glossip, Jack Vidgen, and Kween Kong.
The festival programme features more than 100 events including theatre, live performances, visual art, and music. This year, the festival also hosts a special LGBTQ Trash Film Night. The night will feature a screening of short queer films.
The official Pride March Adelaide kicks off the festival. It is a passionate procession which celebrates diversity and inclusivity. It is followed by the Carnival. This colourful procession brings together thousands of people. The Carnival is a celebration of queer artists and creativity. It features a DJ pumping out queer anthems and a parade of motorcycles.
Feast Festival’s 25th Birthday Gala is held on 12 November at the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Space Theatre. This special event will feature a queer smorgasbord of entertainment and market stalls.
